It’s no secret that doughnuts are my favourite treat! Now with this yeast-free, super speedy, 6 ingredient recipe, you can have a delicious and wholesome batch of donuts in under 20 mins! YES PLEASE! Let me know how you go with them, I’m super excited for you to make them xx
Makes: 6 doughnuts
Ready in: 20 mins
Ingredients:
1 1/2cups of self-raising flour (I used wholemeal)
1 cup of plain yoghurt (I use @yoproau )
1/4 cup natural maple syrup
2 tbsp butter, melted (I used Nuttlex)
2 tbsp raw sugar
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Method:
Step 1. Preheat oven to 180C and line a baking tray.
In a medium bowl, combine the flour, yoghurt and maple syrup. Mix and knead lightly to form a dough
Step 2. Separate the dough into 6 evenly sized balls. Roll the balls with your hands to form long cylinder shapes (roughly 15 cms in length), connect the ends to form a doughnut shape and place onto your prepared baking tray (or press the dough into a specialised doughnut tray if you have one)
Step 3. Bake for 12-13 minutes or until slightly golden brown
Step 4. While the doughnuts are baking mix together the sugar and cinnamon in bowl
Step 5. Remove Doughnuts from the oven, lightly brush with melted butter, and coat with the cinnamon and sugar mixture
Step 6. Enjoy them while they’re still hot!
Notes:
You could to make an icing and glaze them instead of adding the cinnamon and sugar
Woolies has an excellent self-raising flour you can use as a substitute if you’re gluten intolerant
use coconut yoghurt for a DF option
