Chrissy Bliss Balls

Updated: Apr 21, 2020

Create these cute Christmas bliss balls without turning on the oven, they’re also a fabulous, healthy sweet treat.

Ready in: 20 minutes

Makes: 12 - 20 depending on your ball size

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup pitted fresh dates

  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats

  • 1/2 cup nuts of your choice (almond, walnuts and pecans all taste great)

  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

  • 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence

  • 2 tbsp desiccated coconut or cocoa for topping

Method

Step 1. Soak dates and cranberries in a glass or small bowl of warm water for 10-15 minutes or until soft.

Step 2. Drain and tip dates into the bowl of a food processor. Add the remaining ingredients to the processor and process until combined (the ‘dough’ should be quite dense and sticky when combined)

Step 3. Remove mixture from food processor and roll into tsp sized balls

Step 4. On separate plates, spread out your desired toppings. Roll each ball in your chosen topping before placing in a storage container and popping in the fridge

Notes:

  • Other festive toppings could include ground pistachios (green) or processed goji berries (red)? You could also try your favourite chopped nuts

  • If your food processor isn't very strong. process the oats and dry ingredients first before adding the the dates and cranberries to achieve a smoother dough consistency

  • Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 1 week
